Most colleges that you apply to will require an application fee. Be aware that the fee varies from school to school. A small number of colleges wave the application fee to individuals who choose to apply online. Don't let the cost of an application deter you from applying. This is only a small drop in bucket of your college expense, and it is the most important one. Without applying to a college, you can't get in. So, dig deep and shell out the money that might get you into the perfect school.
Each application will ask you for your scores on a standardized test such as the SAT or ACT. Be sure you know well ahead of time what test scores are required for the schools you are interested in. This will enable you to take the right tests without stress. Further information is available about Testing.
Finally, most applications will request a personal essay. This essay is given a great deal of weight by many admissions committees. It is just as important as your GPA and your test scores. Your personal essay should reflect your desire to learn and to succeed academically. Let the admissions committee know why you think their school is the best match for your educational goals. Also enlighten the committee on how you plan to succeed in the program you are pursuing.
