Living on Campus:
Dorm rooms, what is allowed and restricted to decorate my room.

What is the schools process for matching roommates? What if you want to switch?

What kind of food is offered in the food service?

What kind of academic and social programs are offered in the dorms?

What king of health facilities are available?

You have set great ground rules and procedure.

Don't ignore the basics. Don't laugh, this is true. An adult kept writing checks after being overdrawn, they thought it would be covered.
Scheduled communication to make sure everyone is on the same page.
Watch irrigular spending. Even if it is in the budget irregular spending can creep up on you. It is the daily out of pocket spending that will add up at the end of the month. Coffee, snacks, driving extra trips. Sales and Bargins! A good deal isn't unless you can afford it. (Cash) Old business term, "Cash is King".
Enjoy!

Our family is not financially well off and we have talked about using a budget at school. We are asking that any new purchases not in the budget be discussed, just as we do at home. We are not allowing any credit cards the first year and the checking account is set up jointly. Even though most of the money in the account is our daughters. We just don't want any surprises.
Any other suggestions?
